A wide variety of habitats within easy reach including:
• A large number of birds can be seen from the cottage, garden and field Please see separate list.
• RSPB reserves at Point of Ayr (5 miles) on Dee Estuary and Conwy (24 miles) and RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands, Neston CH64 5SF.(27 miles, 35 minutes drive)
• Little Tern Colony at Gronant near Prestatyn (May to July)
• Sea bird colonies on Anglesey including puffin, razorbill and guillemot. Chough and peregrine commonly seen on coast
• Red kites seen overhead on occasion in locality and regularly in other parts of North Wales. Peregrine falcons locally common. Merlin, short-eared owls and hen harriers on Dee in winter and on hills in spring/summer. Marsh harriers regularly seen at Gronant 
• Ospreys nesting at Llyn Brening and in Snowdonia
